Due Diligence System

Due Diligence System

Tradin Organic is committed to generating positive impact in the food system. That also means we want to ensure we conduct our activities and services in a responsible way, and that the partners we work with do so too. We have outlined our way of working and the requirements we set ourselves and our partners in various documents, available for download below.

Corporate policies

Corporate policies

We are part of Acomo N.V., an international group of ingredient producers. All employees of Tradin Organic and its entities across the world sign the group Code of Conduct. The group also has two additional policies on human rights and environmental impact.

Sourcing policies

Sourcing policies

At Tradin Organic, we go beyond these policies for our own operations and our supply chain. Most of the impact our business has on the environment and on people, occurs at origin. To make sure we monitor relevant risks and act on adverse impacts, or opportunities for positive impact, we have a thorough, mandatory vendor approval process and Due Diligence System. This system is based on the OECD Guidance for responsible business conduct and is a continuous process that helps identify risks relating to human rights, labour rights and the environment with a view to ending, preventing or mitigating those risks.

For raw materials from countries or product groups with risk, Tradin Organic requires transparency and assurance in a way that it deems appropriate to the situation, including whether there is a direct or indirect relationship with the producers. The goal is either:

  • Certification or auditing by an independent third party, or
  • Verification by Tradin Organic of information provided through our supplier questionnaires

We aim to have our full supply base analysed and registered in our system as either certified or verified in 2024, and commit to annual progress updates. Read more detail in our policy documents:

Governance and transparency

Governance and transparency

Our internal Sustainability Committee oversees the due diligence system and sustainability program. This group of leaders from Tradin’s various departments regularly meet to check on activities and progress against targets. We also report on key Sustainability and Due Diligence KPI’s to Acomo on a quarterly basis. Acomo publishes the group’s integrated Annual Reports on their website.

We are a member of the Supplier Ethical Data Exchange (SEDEX) and share our audit reports and self-assessment questionnaires with clients and other interested stakeholders.

This way of working is our basis for achieving and maintaining the We Care certification, a comprehensive sustainability standard for food companies that evaluates companies’ own sustainability efforts as well as their supply chain management.

Grievance mechanism

Grievance mechanism

Acomo also manages SPEAK UP!, a formal grievance mechanism for all internal and external stakeholders of the group companies. We encourage stakeholders of Tradin Organic with concerns about the conduct of our employees, suppliers or partners to make a report, which can also be done anonymously. All reports are investigated by Acomo’s Compliance Office, and Acomo reports on the number of reports in the Annual Report.
