Environmental Impact

At Tradin Organic, we commit to supplying organic food ingredients to our customers that are grown and processed in a beneficial way for our planet. We strive to have a positive environmental impact with our activities throughout our supply chains.

We do this through working together with the most innovative organic farmers, who are pioneering regenerative practices at their farms. At our different processing facilities, we constantly aim for reducing our environmental footprint. This way we can assure sustainably grown organic ingredients for now and for future generations

We Strongly Support and Celebrate The Environmental Benefits Of Regenerative, Organic Farming Systems

We commit ourselves to promote the numerous benefits of organic agriculture, such as improved health for farmers and workers, better soil quality, reduced CO2-emissions, and biodiversity. We invest in our sourcing projects and work together with suppliers to further grow organic production.

Our organic farmers rely heavily on the environment and the health of their soils to successfully grow our organic ingredients. However, irregular climate patterns and soil erosion are affecting farmers and farmlands worldwide. To counteract these ongoing changes, we work with our farmers to improve their soils and adapt to changing climatic conditions through organic regenerative practices. We aim to secure a sustainable supply of organic food ingredients for now and for the future with these actions.

As a certified organic company, we envision a future where all food production uses organic ingredients. For this reason, we are working hard to grow our portfolio and increase our volume of organic certified food ingredients. We offer a range of agricultural services to the organic farmers we work with to support and boost their yields while setting up new organic projects worldwide to help conventional farmers convert to organic production. With these efforts, we contribute to the growth of organic agriculture worldwide.

We Strive To Minimize and Monitor Our Environmental Footprint From Source To Customer

We Strive To Minimize and Monitor Our Environmental Footprint From Source To Customer

We continuously monitor our offices and processing facilities' environmental footprint to reduce our carbon emissions, water use, and waste generation.

An excellent example of our efforts is implementing an ambitious waste reduction program by Crown of Holland, our organic cocoa processing facility in the Netherlands. The plant collects the cocoa beans' shells, which most cocoa processing facilities discard as a waste product, and sells them to local cattle farmers to supplement their animal feed. Besides the cocoa shells' reuse, The Crown separates used plastic and paper packaging materials for recycling. As a result of these measures, the processing facility does not waste any raw materials and sends minimal waste to landfill. To complement the waste-reducing processes, we Install solar panels on the roof of the facility to support the offices' electricity use.

Another example of our sustainable practices is our organic sesame processing facility in Ethiopia, Selet Hulling. This facility uses the dry-hulling method to process sesame seeds, which uses considerably less water than the traditional wet hulling. This alternative dry-hulling process helps minimize our water consumption in the facility and preserve this valuable resource.
