Tradin Organic is excited to add Organic Textured Plant Protein (TPP) to our line of Organic Plant Proteins. Tradin’s Organic Textured Plant Protein is not made from isolate. Instead, it’s manufactured from protein concentrate using a dry fractionation process. This results in a textured plant protein that’s easy to formulate with and cost effective thanks to naturally occurring fiber, great structural integrity, and neutral flavor profile. This versatile textured plant protein can be used to create a stand-alone product or as an adjunct ingredient to increase protein. This plant-based protein is unique in that is has an amino acid profile of 92. Which means it is almost a complete protein!

The opportunities for formulating with this textured plant protein are endless with the amount offered in the product line.

The nutritional value is superb as well! The product has high protein at about 53g/100g and higher than normal fiber content averaging at 15g/100g in the dry ingredient. It is great for vegan, vegetarian, and 50/50 plant/ meat applications. Some of our favorite applications have been Vegan Bolognese (see video!), “noChicken” strips, orange pepper “noBeef”, “noBacon” (recipe cards available), vegan burger, and vegan taco filling too.

Not only is the textured plant protein good for your body but also for the planet! Tradin’s new TPP manufacturers, once former “beef ranchers”, were concerned about the negative environmental impacts of their business. They sold their ranch and transitioned to manufacture organic plant-based meat alternatives to become part of the climate change solution. They chose the most sustainable solution every step of the way from sourcing to manufacturing. They even source all of the raw materials from regional Baltic farmers, keeping their CO2 footprint low. The facility they produce the TPP at is powered by windmills and use a dry fractionation process to use as little water as possible. With all of these conscious decisions, the CO2 footprint of the TPP is 30x lower than that of hamburger! It is the most sustainable choice when going plant based.
