Since 2007, Tradin and its partners have been working with local farmers to produce organic sunflower seeds. This partnership grew over the years and in 2012 it led to the establishment of SunComo Foods Bulgaria, our organic sunflower seed processing facility in Silistra. Based on the developments over the years, we currently process around 25.000MT of sunflower seeds in our processing facility. The facility produces a range of organic certified sunflower products such as sunflower kernels, chips and oil. We source most of our organic sunflower seeds from the fertile region in between the Danube river and the North shore of the Black Sea. Organic sunflowers are an ideal crop to include in a crop rotation system and we have worked with our farmers to develop a sustainable, organic rotation by purchasing several of their rotation crops. For this reason, we can supply a range of organic grains, legumes and other crops from Bulgaria. Our sourcing team in Bulgaria is continuously working on developing new organic projects and products within the region.

In 2008, Tradin Organic started working with two Bulgarian farming brothers to set up a project for organic raspberries and strawberries, and successfully obtained an organic certification for their fields. We went on to provide pre-financing to set up a local freezing facility for the organic berries produced on our partners' farms. Over the years, the project has shown continuous growth and we hope to continue to work together with the local farmers to bring our frozen organic raspberries and strawberries to market.
