Selet Hulling PLC was established in December 2007 and is a joint venture between Kaleb Services Farmers House and The Organic Corporation BV.
Kaleb is an Ethiopian company that specialises in the export of different agricultural food products, which include oil seeds, coffee and different types of Ethiopian spices. Additionally, they import different agricultural machineries into Ethiopia, such as combine harvesters and tractors from CLAAS Germany.
The Organic Corporation is a Dutch-based holding company for Tradin Organic and its international offices, Trabocca BV, SunOpta Foods Europe, and SunOpta Foods China. These companies are specialised in the international sourcing and supply of certified organic ingredients worldwide. They are present in almost all food industries, from baby food, bakery, beverages, cereals, granolas, cocoa products, confectionery, dairy products, dressings, frozen food, soups, sauces, spreads and sweeteners. One of the main goals of The Organic Corporation is to develop sustainable agricultural projects around the world and sources over 80% of its raw materials out of its own companies and projects, currently present in Ethiopia, Serbia, China, Thailand, Mexico, Bulgaria, Philippines and Vietnam, to mention a few. In 2008, the large publicly held Canadian company SunOpta acquired The Organic Corporation, leading Selet-Hulling to bigger markets and a healthy growth.
